E.R. Adventures in LexiLand

This is our Little Lexi... This picture just about captures our fun little girl... If one of the kids is going to get into a pickle of any kind, it is this child. We have been at the E.R. more times with her than the other two put together! Just a few months ago, she had me JUST about convinced she had seriously injured, if not broken, her leg. The sitter was on her way, after leaving in the middle of a date, and Jasin was rushing home from work, and I was getting ready to leave for the hospital. I sat down next to her and started to feel her leg and toes, and she forgot to scream. When I demanded to know WHY she had just faked a broken leg, she sobbed that she just wanted to see an X-Ray picture of her leg bones. Sigh. I wish triplets just like herself on her almost daily. That being said; Lexi was in the E.R. for real today. The girls and I were going to see the new Hannah Montana movie. It didn't start for another 45 minutes, so we went to a nearby store. Lexi was striking poses in a full length mirror, and when she turned around to follow me, tripped and fell headfirst into a display shelf with a sharp edge...
One look at the horrendous hole in my child's head, and I knew there was not going to be a movie in our near future. Thank God we were only a few minutes from the hospital! This hole was HUGE!!! Blood was everywhere, and the shop employees were totaly freaking out.
I called Jasin, who came and grabbed Kaila, and him and Joe took Kaila to the movie with the tickets I already had, and Lexi fast became the E.R. and X -Ray darling

And, of course she demanded to see what her X-Rays looked like! They couldn't get enough of this precotious child, striding about in her brown suade cowgirl boots, asking all sorts of questions, and laughing so hard at every little thing, that they were all laughing too!

During a closer inspection of her head, I could see her actual skull. The nurse in me was like "Oh WOW!!! THAT IS SO COOL!!!!!" the Mom in me was like "OH MY GOD, MY POOR BABY!!!!"

We had a great doctor, who put her right at ease, and informed us, of course, that Lexi was definatley going to need stitches. Lex was, however, a total trooper during the whole thing. It took a double dose of numbing agent, to get her numb enough to suture it. That being the most painful part of the procedure for her. I sat right there and held her hand while she was all stitched up, (5 in all!). At one point, she began to cry, though she didn't move a muscle, and the doctor asked what was wrong?

"I just need a hug is all!" Wept my child. "AAWWWW!!!!!" went the general murmur around the room, as it seemed half the E.R. staff was gathered around, and the family of a little boy with a high temp. a few cubicles down. She was given candy, stickers, popsicles, and a teddy bear.

Here she is, all bandaged up, at home. Stitches come out next week. As she skipped through the front door when we arrived home, she was shrieking "THIS WAS THE BEST DAY EVER!!!!!"
Triplets. Just like herself!
