Spring Break 2010

April has been a busy month. For Easter this year, the weather was amazing for once! Nice and warm and sunny! We had good friends of ours over, and did up BBQ ribs and deviled eggs and chicken wing dip and iced tea. Everyone had a great time! It was one of the best Easter's I can remember! Unfortunately, we'll have to remember it mentally, as I didn't think to take any pictures....

This month, the baby has really grown - 17.2 pounds at 3 months!!! I looked up all my other babies weights, and at 7 months, Lexi was 16 pounds. My little moose is in the 95th height and weight percentile! He is, out of all my kids, the most easy going, calm, good natured baby. No hours of crying or fussiness for this kid! He is also on a great schedule, sleeping from about 8:00 PM till 4:00 AM. After I get him back to sleep, energy willing, I go with a friend at 5:00 AM for a brisk trot around Franklinville, (I love and hate this awesome friend for that 'brisk' pace!!!! I am more of a 'nice stroll' type. She's a big help for motivation!) Then, it's on to homework, before the rest of the kids get up. Homework is way easier when the kids are asleep!

The last two weeks, I have been on Spring break, before the home stretch of school. We didn't do too much, mostly I read lots of books, and cleaned the house. It was kind of nice, being a stay at home mom for all of two weeks! Here are some pictures...
Lexi took this awful picture of George. he is not really cross eyed and dopey looking!

We did take the kids to Buffalo last week. We went to the museum (LOVE the museum!!) and then down to the water front, to see the battle ships and submarine in the harbor. George just rolled with it.

Looking for fish. And spitting in the water....

The big kids

And, a Kaila picture, just to prove there are really parents around occasionaly! Behind us is the HSBC arena, home of the Sabres (GO Sabres!!!) and the future site of Bass Pro Shop.
Anyhow, I need to do a Blog in the near future with more baby pics, and some shots of Lexi and Joe, who both learned how to ride bikes this month! Lord help us, when they start driving....

OMG! I updated the Blog!!!! :)

We have been an incredibly busy family, over the last month or so. So, in no particular order, here are some pictures of our adventures...
We recently took the whole crew to the Buffalo Museum Of Science, for a Sesame Street hands on exibit about the human body. While it wasn't really all that wonderful, we ended up exploring other parts of the museum and had the absolute best afternoon! Below, are the kids and the Stegosaurous.
The third floor of the museum was really cool, in that it was all dedicated to kids! There were two huge areas, one for older kids, and one for younger. Here are Lexi and Joe in the older kid's side. They are playing in a simulated stream. It had running water, and gravely sand. Joe promptly dammed it all up, to make a fishing pond. You can take the boy outta the country, but you can't take the country outta the boy....
After playing in the stream/pond, kids can go wash their hands. I LOVE this picture. There is just something about it!

Museum aside, there is still school. It's exhusting, as pictured below. George is snuggled up with Shea, who pointed out they matched, as soon as she saw the picture...

Just because I like this picture!

And, this is me, checking to see if he's asleep. Sometimes I THINK he is, but, he isn't. Recently, while watching Popeye, Joe and Lexi decided they needed Popeye spinach, in a can, so they could pick up the house. So. We went and bought Popeye brand spinach, and they were determined to eat it. They happily planned all the wonderful things they were going to do with all their muscles. It did not go so well. They hated it.

Lexi gave it a go.

It was disgusting.

Below, we finally got a picture of George, smiling. Cute baby!

Lexi and George, hanging out. The kids love their baby brother so much!

And, last but not least, the kids decided to have a sleepover in Joe's bed last weekend. (Note the dog was invited, too). I checked on them before bed. This was so cute, I ran back downstairs for the camera. Joe has his head on Lexi, and his feet hanging over Kaila. Too cute! And, he's wearing his art smock over his jammies. Not quite sure how that came about though.
Anyhow, that is sort of a catch up of life around here. George had a two and a half month checkup this morning. He weighed in at 15 lb, 2 oz and 25 inches. I am so happy to have him!
