Happy Father's Day!

There are no pictures in this post, cuz I have absolutely had NO time to take any! We are in the middle of my last two weeks of school, before summer break. It's clinical work every day at Olean General Hospital, about half an hour from home. So, every morning, I get up at 5:00, am out the door by 6:00, and I get home at the earliest, 3:30. Jasin and I go the whole week without seeing each other, because he leaves for work at 2:40. I couldn't do this without him though! He has been getting into bed around 4:30 AM, and out of it, to get the kids up by 7:00. He has had no sleep, and I have been too exhusted by the end of the day and weighted down with homework to do anyhthing! Consequently, I have to pretend I do not see the absolute disgrace my house is right now. Jasin tries to keep up with the dishes and laundry, and has not complained once about the lack of sleep. So... Happy Father's Day honey! Thank you so much for everything!!!!

Out of the mouths of babes

Sometimes, when I hear the things my children say at home, I wonder what they are saying in public, when I am not around. Do we REALLY want to know? Here are some recent comments

Kaila: "Today at school, we didn't have the usual straws for milk."
Me: "Well, what kind of straws did you have?"
Kaila: "You know, the kind that gets put in whiskey drinks"

Or, we have Lexi's recent announcement.

Lexi: "When I get married, I am going to need one of those white wedding dresses. Mine is going to need a big belly in it."
Me: "Why are you going to need a dress with a big belly?"
Lexi: "Because there's going to be a baby in my belly when I get married!"

Wow. Don't say we weren't warned! We can only wonder what the school thinks of Kaila's knowlege of the proper drink accessories!

Joe also recently had a revelation...

Joe: " I did not come from your belly, Mom."
Me: "Where did you come from, then?"
Joe: "The factory made me."
Me: "Then how did you get here from the factory?"
Joe: "The garbage truck brought me."

Wonder if it's too late to have a say in the current factory order?

I AM WHAT???!!!!!!

Some of you may have noticed a certain nausia theme in the recent Blogs. And, if you think back, faithful followers will recall that we recently traded in the minivan. Ask anyone who knows me well, and I AM DONE HAVING CHILDREN. This thought occured to me recently, as I lay on the couch, absently gazing at Joe, and thinking smugly that we no longer have to change diapers. My last kid is getting ready for school this fall. I am going into my second year of Nursing school, and OH! The possibilities! We finally have children old enough, that we feel okay about our planned trip to the Pocano's next month. Without them. All inclusive. Alcohol, (Oh, to be on the recieving end!) Dining, a room with a hot tub, massages. In fact, the resort includes all but kids! Hurray! The end of this month, we have already rented an RV, for our trip with the kids to the semi-local 6 Flags theme park. A well deserved vacation for the family. Isn't this nice? I thought about all this, while vaguely noting an incredible taste for peas. NEEDED peas. It was all I thought about for almost a week, before I finally dug some out of the freezer and cooked them up for dinner. Oh! Wonderful peas! WHAT?! OH. NOW?
Yep. The test was about as positive as it gets. Right away. According to every website I have tried, I figure we're due around the end of January. The Lord works in mysterious ways. So, June 23, I am off to the doctor, to have an official due date, and checkup, and all the fun stuff a prenatal visit entails. Jasin said we should wait to tell people, till after the doctor visit, but, he said nothing about my Blog!!!
This explains the absolute worst sickness I have ever had in my life, and the fact that , even though it's only 6 or so weeks into it; I can't fit into most of my jeans, but have no weight gain. I guess my stomach just gave up the fight early this time. Jasin cheerfully suggested the possibility of twins. He lost the good cheer and suggestion with one quelling glance.
It's not that I'm not excited, it's just that, it would have been a little easier, had this happened 6 months or so down the line! Nursing school is hard enough with a family, job and 10,000 things that go with it all! Throw a baby and a c-section into the middle of a school year, and I just didn't know what to think!
All this is churning through my head, as I am at work on auto pilot all weekend, and dealing with Kaila's 3 day Birthday celebration, and the thoughts that we have NOTHING for a baby! I gave it all away! So, we have to start from scratch. I was so overwhelmed, that when one of my regulars came in, and asked how I was, I immedietely burst into tears and sobbed it all out, finishing with, "And it wont even be born before I can deduct it!!!" Darn hormones. LOL!
Anyhow, you heard the news here, first. We haven't even told the kids yet. I will post more as I learn it!

Happy Birthday, Kaila!!!

This past Friday was Kaila's 8th birthday. Because of the absolutely crazy schedules around here, we have a tradition that turns my stomach to think about. The only time the entire family is together on weekdays, is first thing in the morning. Jasin goes to work before the girls get home, and does not get home untill the wee hours of the morning. So, on weekday birthdays, we all gather around the diningroom table at 6 A.M., while the birthday child unwraps gifts.

Then, out comes the birthday cake, and we do the whole Happy Birthday song, and eat cake for breakfast. My stomach was SO not up to this!

We celebrated almost all weekend, around work and school schedules. On Friday she had her presents and cake. Jasin and I both had to work Friday night; no guilt here, right? On Saturday, Kaila had her BFF, Katelyn over for the night. Before I went to work, we took everyone to go see. "Up". How pitiful is it, that Jasin and I were probably more excited than the kids to go see this movie?
On Sunday, almost the moment I rolled out of bed, after getting into it at 4 A.M., I was hauled right out the door, for a promised trip to Buffalo, to the mall, with Kaila and Katelyn. The trip was followed by a trip to Toys R Us, in which Kaila spent her birthday money. $50.00 WENT ON STUFFED ANIMALS!!!! Any parent reading this will understand the aggravation right there. MORE of the d!*n things to trip over!!!!
There would have been more pictures, but the battieries in my camera ran out, and I really never had the time to go replace them. Below is a shot of the Birthday girl, in one of her new dresses. Happy Birthday, Buggerboo!!!!

Kaila the fish

This week, the school sent home a notice, stating the second graders were putting on a little demo for their parents, to show what they learned in swim class. Our daughter, the one who cried for days at the thought of standing under shower spray. Who would get herself wet in a pool, only up to the tips of her hair. Who then announced she needed longer hair. THAT daughter!!! I was SO proud of what I saw! She jumped willingly into a swimming pool!
And LIKED it! She even jumped off the diving board! Woo Hoo!

And SWAM!

Congratualtions Kaila!!!!
