Kids and Trucks and Bears, Oh My!

Hi everyone! I know it's been awhile since this was updated, but it's been a busy month in the Dick household. I say that like we have exciting, important things to report. Mostly it's just homework though. I NEED to be done with Anatomy in school! Probably the most exciting thing to happen is my new TrailBlazer! I bought it with a private laugh, for the sister of a friend in California. Said sister recently had to go out and buy a minivan, due to impending twins. I couldn't get on her Blog fast enough, to tout the wonders of minivans. And, while I do kinda miss old "Chuggaboom", as ours was affectionately named; it was time to replace her. It didn't go out without a fight, however. We had gone grocery shopping and had the back of the van filled with perishables, when we stopped at the dealership to look at this SUV. The van MUST have known what was up, because when we arrived home, the back of it wouldn't open for anything. Not even pleading, or a stern speaking to. Pictured here is old Chuggaboom at our Darien Lake vacation last summer.

I don't know if I am nuts or really cool, but Joe recently insisted Baby Bear's Birthday was coming up. So, after informing me it was the following Thursday, I dutifully put it on the calendar, and sent Jasin out for a cake on the chosen day. Below is Baby Bear, (who, by the way, is 4 now) blowing out her candles. She really loved the cake, I was told. She needed to rest and watch cartoons after the little celebration. And Joe gave her some of his treaured cars as presents. This bear is part of the family, and I love it almost as much as Joe does, I think! Which is why, at bedtime, in the dark the other night, I didn't mind slopping through the mud outside in search of her. Too much.

And what would a day here be, without torment of the poor dog? Buster actually seemed to LIKE the glasses!

THANK GOD Lexi was only pretending to cut Joe's hair!!! I do not put it past the child to use real scissors eventually!

Kaila reading to Princess Lexi. Lexi recently insisted on wearing the crown to school. There probably would have been a point in time when I would have insisted she leave it home, but, I guess I have been a parent long enough to realize that you really need to pick your battles! The crown was a hit!

Joe and Baby Bear before bed. Sadly, I just realized there are more pictures of the bear than there are of Kaila...
